Song of the Day: A-Moe "Mom is Home"

Song of the Day: Mom Is Home by A-Moe

Todays song of the day is from Norwegian bubblegum-dance group A-Moe.
A-Moe was more or less a one hit wonder in 2003 with this song, but they have also released a CD called Beauty and the Beast in 2005.

The reason why I've chosen this song as my song of the day is because I was going through some old CD's while driving and it came on.
I would like to dedicate the song to my friend Anneli, because no song reminds me more of her then this one. It's from the days when me and Anneli would drive round town, making the streets of Lakselv unsafe. And she would secretly put a specific CD in the CD-player of my car, and they yell out "You're the man" before the song would start. Meaning I had to sing the male part of this song. I gotta say I miss those days. Anneli, you are, and always will be the best singing partner a wolf could ask for . hahaha :)

Birthday Wishes

Happy Birthday my Dear Ian!

I hope you have a great birthday,
and I want to wish you the best for your special day and the year to come.

Here's a poem i felt suited the situation

~~~~~~~~
Your Zoo
A birthday should always be a joyous occasion,
Family and friends; obvious invasion.
Duplicate gifts, you don’t even like,
If you complain, might get a strike.
One simple day, placed on display,
Carefully observed, for signs of decay.
Dishonest smiles, they don’t mingle in truth,
As if you were the only, losing your youth.
At such a wise age, everything seems so clear,
Excuse to celebrate, they all came for beer.
Deep down inside, you know that they care,
Your Zoo is unique, normal is rare.
~~~~~~~~

Lots of love

Lill

The Transformer Owl

The Transformer Owl

The Southern White-faced Owl (Ptilopsis granti) is without a doubt the most amazing owl ever.
It's native to the southern half of Africa, and quite small with its 22-28 cm's and only 184-220 grams.
The special thing about this amazing owl is its ability to modify its appareance when it feels threatened.
It can enlarge its body, puffing it up to look double it size to ward off slightly bigger owls or enemies,
or it can make itself appear shrivelled to camouflage itself as a tree trunk or branch.
This is, the Transformer Owl!

The Southern White-faced Owl in its normal appearance

In it's shriveled state

As you can see it's not a very big owl

The Transformer Owl in action.
It's in Japanese, but it doesn't matter, just watch and enjoy.

Song of the Day Exclusive Edition: We are the world

We Are The World

This Song of the Day extra is about the very famous "We are the World", which was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie for the amazing collaboration of USA for Afrika in 1985.
Back when the song was released it broke all records with a sale of over 20 million copies.
Awarded numerous honors, including three Grammy's one American Music Award and a People's Choice Award. The song was promoted with a critically received music video, a home video, a special edition magazine, a simulcast, and several books, posters and shirts. The promotion and merchandise aided the success of "We Are the World" and raised over $63 million for humanitarian aid in Africa and the US.

In 2010 after the devestating earthquake in Haiti on January 12th, a remake of the song was recorded by a new all-star group. The song was titled "We are the world 25 for Haiti", and all proceeds from the record will aid survivors in the impoverished country.

Song of the Day: Don't stop Believing

Song of the day:
Don't Stop Believeing
By The Cast of Glee (originally performed by Yourney)

Unfortunately I could not find a good video for this song,
as Sony Entertainment apparently doesn't like Norway to view their products.
But anyways enjoy the song, I love it so much. Always makes me happy to sing.
I guess I'm kinda s sucker for musicals and choir song.

Review: Outsourced!

A little peek at Outsourced

Today I've started watching the new NBC sitcom "Outsorced" about american Todd Dempsey who is transferred to India to run a call-center for the Novalty company he works for.
I gotta admit I was really pleasently suprised by this show, seeing as the other shows I've seen lately have been more or less a waste of time. This show is a breath of fresh funny air.
The incredible culture clash between Todd and his workers makes for a new and intresting tone for the show, and I can truly say that it doesn't feel like it's just a new take on a show I've seen a houndred times before. Well done NBC.
So if you like laughing, this is definaltely worth having a look at!

If you're only gone watch one comedy show this year, Outsourced is it!

Tv Show Pilot Reviews

Tv-Show Pilot Review's Week 11

Ok I've had a little time, so I decided to take a peek at some of the pilots of the new comedy shows out there, and I've decided to give you guys a little review of what I thought of these shows.
So I hope you enjoy.

The show "Mike and Molly" is about the obese police officer Mike, and the voluptious teacher Molly, who meet at a weight-loss support group. And here start the awkwardness of Mike trying to ask Molly out for a date.

I know the review of that one wasn't very long, but really that's all I needed to say. This is a funny show, and I'm looking forward to enjoying the next episode. "Mike and Molly" is a sweet show, but also funny, and it doesn't feel like its a rip off of some other sit-com. It's got a nice new story to it.
So I definately want to reccomend this show.

Mike and Molly Trailer

In the pilot of "The Big C" we join Cathy, played by Laura Linney (Congo, Love Actually). Cathy is diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, and decides it's about time she starts to live the life she has left. So she cashes out her retirement plan, buys a new car, and starts to stirr up the town, leaving her manchild of a husband, mollycoddled son and eco crazy brother wondering what in the world is going on.

In my opinion this show is a big yawn and a half, and I would only watch it if there was honestly nothing else on tv to watch. I feel the "good wife and mother, going crazy and doing a sorta mid-life crisis" thing is so used up. Different backstory, but the same stuff over and over. I found the most amusing part of the pilot to be when she steals a live lobster from a restaurant and lets it go into a salt water pool. I can only hope, for the people watching this show, that it gets better in the next few episodes cause or else it probably wont be coming out with a season 2.

The Big C Trailer

In the show "Melissa and Joey", we meet up with Melissa Joan Hart who we all know and love from "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" In the show Melissa is a big time business woman with less then any time for a personal life, and when she is handed the responsibility or taking care of her teenage niece and nephew, it gets a little to much for her.

I feel this show is pretty boring in itself. It's sort of the typical, girl meets really annoying guy, but guy helps girl out, girl keeps on being oblivious but then in the end, girl falls for boy... At least thats how I see this show playing out. In my oppinion, Melissa Joan Hart should've gotten out of the comedy business, as she kinda just looks like Sabrina got old... I don't see her pulling it off..

Melissa and Joey Trailer

"Better With You" is a series about sisters Mia and Maddie, and how different sisters can be. Maddie, played by Jennifer Finnigan (Close to Home), is a perfectionist. She has been together with boyfriend Ben for 9 years, without any plans of getting married, because things take time, and in Maddies world, it takes a lot of time. Mia, played by Joanna Garcia-Swisher (Reba, Gossip Girl) is the complete oposite of her sister. Only 7 weeks after meeting boyfriend Casey, we discover that not only are they getting married, but also expecting a baby.

Ok, so "Better With you" is a show who takes things to a bit of an extreme, but I think it works. Maddie is the responsible one who over thinks everything by a mile, while Mia is a spontanious wild child. Together they make a funny chaos that I rather enjoy watching. But I do have to say that the show in some ways reminds me of "What I Like About You" with Jennie Garth and Amanda Bynes.
Mia's boyfriend Casey is my favorite in this show. He has about the same IQ as a wet towel, and definately has the best lines in this show. I guess it's something about watching other people be stupid that makes me feel superior.

Movie Review: You Again (Comedy)

You Again!

Comedy. Starring: Kristen Bell, Sigourney Weaver, Jamie Lee Curtis, Betty White, Odette Annable.

Plot:
Successful PR pro Marni (Kristen Bell) heads home for her older brother's wedding and discovers that he's marrying her high school arch nemesis, who's conveniently forgotten their problematic past. Then the bride's jet-setting aunt (Sigourney Weaver) bursts in and Marni's not-so-jet-setting mom (Jamie Lee Curtis) comes face to face with her own high school rival. The claws come out and old wounds are opened in this crazy comedy that proves that not all rivalries are forever.

My oppinion:
Ok... So if you're the kind of person who enjoyed "Freaky Friday" and "Mean Girls", you're probably going to like "You Again". It's a proper teen movie with some laughs, some tears, and some pain. Good thing about this movie is that if you need to go to the bathroom or get a snack, you haven't really missed much when you come back. I must admit, my favorite part of the movie is absolutely senile granny Bunny (Betty White).

You Again gets a weak 3 from me!
